In 1940s Louisiana, a young Cajun girl with a passion for the swamp and singing defies her father's prohibition on exploring the wild, only to forge a sinister and mystical bond with a Rougarou.
Featuring elements of the new Southern Gothic, Évangéline will premiere at the New Orleans Film Festival (Oct. 16 to 22) in an Oscar®-qualifying category for short films.

Musique(s)! : Le documentaire propose de partir à la rencontre d’artistes louisianais ayant fait le choix de composer et d’interpréter leurs chansons en français ou créole, perpétuant ainsi une tradition vieille de plusieurs siècles.
Mêlant entretiens, images d’archives et séances d’enregistrement en studio, ce documentaire financé par Create Louisiana et TV5Monde proposera une incursion au cœur de la musique louisianaise.

This new educational resource looks back at the history of Louisiana through the languages that have shaped it, including French, Spanish, English, Creole, and Indigenous languages.
Funded by the Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie and CODOFIL, it will be published for the 2024 Sommet de la Francophonie in October and then distributed for free to over 2,000 students aged 12-15 years old across Louisiana.

This publication – which will be placed into the permanent archives of the Library of Congress – will bring together interviews conducted with the six musicians on the project, putting their ideas and experiences in conversation with their featured music.
The publication will offer a deep dive into the songs that are featured on the album. It will also include photos of the musicians, archival documents, and original content.

THE VINYL
Musique(s)! will culminate in the release of an album recorded at Esplanade Studios in August 2024 with the six musical groups on the project (Leyla McCalla, Louis Michot, Sunpie and the Louisiana Sunspots, Sweet Crude, Les Cenelles and the Baby Dolls).
Each artist was asked to record two songs in French or Louisiana Creole, for a total of twelve tracks and a total duration of around 38 minutes.
This vinyl, produced for the American Folklife Center, will be preserved in the permanent archives of the Library of Congress in Washington D.C.
